Craft Day

Camille came home from school on Thursday with 104^ F fever. Actually, it was kind of scary, because that night, she got up to 105 despite fever reducing medication. We doubted it was the flu (no other symptoms besides the fever) and called the pediatrician who told us there was a virus going around and to expect the high temps to last for about 72 hours. Great...

Fortunately, Camille was feeling a bit better today, but we thought it was in her best interest to keep things 'low key' so we decided to have a craft day. Earlier in the week, Camille went to the Natural History Museum with her friend Hannah. The girls each found a big rock and brought it home. The Good Night Show on Sprout had a craft on making a pet rock and Camille begged to make one with the rock she had found. I thought this day would be the perfect time to do it. I also had a kit to make a chick out of a little pot. Both crafts were fun and turned out great!

We're ready to go! Let's open the paint!

Such focus and concentration...

EVERY craft needs glitter!

The finishing touches...
Tah dah!
And didn't this chick turn out cute? The ONLY thing I did was tie the purple bow... Camille assembled the rest of the kit herself. She's a very crafty kid!
