Friday Family FotoFun Challenge - BFF

For those of you who do not know "BFF" is a common text messaging acronym for Best Friends Forever. Although Camille is in preschool and has lots of friends like Giovanna, Cameron, Wesley, Jordan and Michael, her BFF doesn't go to school with her. Infact, Camille's BFF doesn't even live in the same state! But these 2 girls are so close that we try to have playdates as often as we can. No doubt about it... Camille's BFF is her friend, Hannah! This is Camille and Hannah about a year and a half ago

Hannah will be 4 years old on September 4th. We are going to her birthday party on Sunday. Hannah and her mom have been in Arizona for the past couple of weeks. We have missed them both but Camille can not wait to see Hannah!

Goodbye Elmo?

I have to face it; our baby is no longer a baby, not even a toddler. She is three now. A preschooler. We didn't have the big backyard birthday bash like we did last year. For one thing, her birthday coinsided with our trip to California. Additionally, her best friend Hannah left for Arizona just before we came back home. We did have an intimate family party and I let Camille pick out some party decorations. Among the choices, she picked out decorations with Sesame Street characters and Elmo among them. Good, I thought, she's a least not too big for Elmo.

Yesterday, while cleaning up the playroom, Camille took one of her many Elmo dolls and put it in the trash can. When I found him, I said "How did Elmo end up in the trash?" Camille answered "I put him there." I said, "Why?" She answered, "I don't need him anymore." Again I asked, "Why?" She answered, frankly, "Elmo is for babies. I am big now. So let's pack up the rest of these Elmos." With that she began to put the Elmos in the toy box and shut the lid.

If this is for real, I for one am really going to miss Elmo. I know I already miss my baby, but I think I am too in love with my 'big girl' to notice.

I've got a brand new pair of rollerskates, you've got a brand new key...

A birthday gift for Camille, though a mystery with no indication of who sent them... If it was you, thank you!

Happy 3rd Birthday Camille!

Camille went to preschool today. I brought in popsicles for her to share with her class. It's difficult to bring in anything else these days since so many kids seem to have allergies to wheat, nuts, gluten, etc. When I picked her up from school, I told her since it was her special day, she could choose what we do. I gave her suggestions... the mall, Toys R Us (we belong to the birthday club so I thought she could do her special shop that the club offers), anything. She told me that she wanted to have hotdogs and go in her pool. She is a girl of simplicity... I like that. Happy 3rd Birthday little girl... you are prettier every day.

On your 3rd Birthday

Happy Birthday Princess!
We love you!

More San Diego

Camille really liked Uncle Chris' dog "Petey". They became fast friends.

Camille and Daddy danced at the rehearsal dinner cruise.
Camille enjoyed the dinner cruise ride!
Some of the family went to the San Diego Zoo!
Camille helps remind us all that the Panda's need a quiet environment.

Some photos from San Diego

At the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina. We were met at the airport by a gentleman from the hotel. He was holding this sign that says "Warm Welcome to Camille Corman and Family". Too cute!

Silly Uncle Chris put Camille's sock on his ears! Camille was delighted by Uncle Chris!

San Diego

We've been in beautiful San Diego California since August 5th for Uncle Chris and Aunt Rhonda's wedding. Photos to follow in the coming days as we are scheduled to return home in a few days. We have had a glorious time. Travel was uneventful and our days have been chock-full of fabulous adventures. We visited the San Diego Zoo and had a private show of a seal lion that is trained for the Navy in action. We enjoyed the rehearsal dinner aboard the Hornblower dinner cruiser and the wedding on Coronado Island was not only beautiful, but it was boatloads of fun! Today we went to the free concert at Coronado Island Park. I can't wait to share photos of the bride and groom and, oh yes, the flower girl in action!

Tomorrow's adventure is Sea World... we can't wait! Bye for now, but be sure to stop by in a couple of days for photos!

Puzzling Saturday...

It was too hot to play outside today and since Mommy had a lot to do, Camille worked on a GIANT puzzle that she got from her friend, Audrey.

The finished product!

The Things They Say...

Sometimes Camille comes up with things that make us laugh or just seem wise beyond her 2 years and 11 months of age.

Scene one: Riding in the car with Bop.

Cami: "Bop."

Bop: No response

Cami: "Muse me Bop."

Bop: No respones

Cami: a bit louder "Hey Bop!"

Bop: "Yes Princess?"

Cami: "Put my window down, peas!"

Bop: Rolls down the window with the drivers side controls

Cami: "Good job, Bop!"

Scene two: Riding in the car with Mommy after preschool

Cami: "Mommy? What's your name?"

Me: "Mommy."

Cami: "Noooo.... What's your real name?"

Me: "What do you mean?"

Cami: "I mean like my name is Camille and Daddy's name is Michael... What's your name?"

Me: "Oh... my name is Faye."

Cami: "Oh... Faye... Faye... Faye..."

Scene three: In the classroom at preschool the very next day.

Cami: "Mommy!"

Me: "Hi Camille!"

Cami: Looking at her friend Jordan who is standing close by, "This is my mommy and her name is Faye!"

Jordan: "Hi Camille's Mommy Faye!"

Gotta love the almost three-year-old set! Life is fun!

Friday Family FotoFun Challange - Helping

Camille enjoys helping our friend, Marky who has Cerebral Palsy. Every year Mommy and Daddy volunteer for a camp for disable children. Last year Camille came out to camp for a day and was a really big help! We are looking forward to camp again this year, at the end of the month.
