Once upon a time...

We play word games with Camille. One of our favorite games is "Once upon a time..." It's a story building game and when she was much younger, I would make up a story and she would fill in the blanks. We've been playing this game for quite a long time. Last night, Camille told me a story all by herself. This is her first story at age 3.

"Once upon a time there was a prince. A very tiny prince. He lived in a giant castle all by himself. He was lonely. So, one day he called a knight to help find a new friend. The knight was happy to help. He went out in the dark to find someone for the prince. First, he found a lion who said “Roar!”. The knight thought the lion was mean. But the lion told the knight that he just wanted to help him. So the knight road on the lion’s back to find the princess. When they found the princess she was also very tiny. The lion scared her. The knight said “It’s okay… we’re friends. I know a tiny prince who wants to play with you.” The princess went to meet the prince. At first, the prince did not want to play. Then the prince and the princess slid down a piece of bacon and it was so much fun that they forgot they were tiny and lonely. The End. "

Perhaps she will be the next J.K. Rowling

Let's Bake a Cake!

Tomorrow, March 23 and Easter Sunday is Mommy's Birthday. Camille decided that we needed to celebrate with a "Princess Bunny Party". (Cami's idea). Of course, every birthday party needs a birthday cake. Camille wanted to make one; so today we did. Here's the little chef at work!

A cake to rival the finest bakery! We are looking forward to the party tomorrow!

Egg Hunt!

Today, Camille's friend Hannah came to our house and we went to our community Easter Egg Hunt. Although, the forcast called for rain, it turned out to be a pretty nice morning. A little chilly, but nice! Camille is in her yellow jacket.

Camille shows off her collection... an entire bucket-full!
Hannah (in the red jacket, pink dress and jean) was in a different age group this year, so Camille got to watch her collect eggs with her Mom.
Afterwards, the girls show off their winnings!
Later that same morning we went to the local shopping mall for "Bunny Fun Day". They had crafts,
and "Bunny Bowling",
the girls made rabbit ears,
And played "Bunny Darts".
And won little prizes. It was a really fun day!

Dance Class

I took a couple of photos of Camille and her friends before dance class tonight. We are not permitted to take photos during the class. Obviously, it is too much of a distraction for 3, 4, and 5-year-old dancers!

Gifted

Camille is gifted. I am not saying this to brag. In fact, it worries me, a little. I don't know much about gifted kids, but now it makes sense to me. All the things that have happened. Her selection to the special class at the Academy. Her quirks, the things she says and does. When Camille was 14 months old, I gave her fruit flavored cereal on her highchair tray. I left the room for about 2 minutes, in that time, she had sorted all the cereal bits, by color. She is a perfectionist. She asks questions well beyond her three-year-old comprehension.

"Mommy, when snow and ice melts, it becomes water."

Tonight, Camille said "Mommy, why does Uncle Chris have to fight in the war?" I asked her why she thinks Uncle Chris is fighting in a war. She told me that she heard me tell someone that Uncle Chris is going to Iraq. "So?" I said. To which she replied "So Iraq is the war." Scary stuff.

She is not telling me all she knows.

Playdate with Audrey

Audrey is the daughter of Mommy's friend Vanessa. Camille and Audrey get along really well, but, even though Audrey is local, we don't get to see her as much as we would like to. The last time Audrey and Camille got together was at Halloween for trick-or-treat.
Audrey and Camille 'mug' for the camera along with "Hermie" the Hermit Crab.

Today we went to a Dr. Seuss party. The first activity was painting with dot-dot markers. Fun!

You blinded me with science!

Camille concentrates on a flower craft. The finished product was really cute!

Audrey and Camille loved the book area!

It was a really fun day!
