What do you do with stickers from the Supermarket?

Another week has flow by. This drives me completely crazy! I like to think myself to be a "stop and smell the roses" kind of person. But I've got so many projects going, I haven't had the time. It irritates me because I think of what I'm missing. Mostly Camille...
Mike and I have been talking about buying a new house for a while. While we like this house and love the neighborhood it is in, we've simply out grown it. We need more space. Additionally, I commute 50 miles to work... one way. I would like to shorten the commute.
I've been looking at houses, none of which Mike liked. This past weekend I found a winner. You know the way you feel when walk into the 'right' house? Mike felt it too. It's in a lovely neighborhood and just 6 miles from where I work. Keep your fingers crossed for us. We plan to make an offer.
Camille is doing well. She enjoys preschool and is learning a tremendous amount. We are always amazed at the progress she has made in past 2 years.

Girls just wanna have fun!

Camille is full of surprises. Mike and I enjoy listening to XM radio. Our favorite 'Sunday morning' station is called "High Standards". They play lot of great music by Nat Cole, Frank Sinatra and the like. Mike also sings a lot of these types of songs to Camille before bed. So we were listening to the radio last Sunday morning and Mike casually asked Camille "Who is this singing on the radio?" Completely unprompted Camille answered "Frank 'Anotra"... and you know what? She was right!

In her new preschool class, the kids do worksheets. They are simple worksheets about numbers and letters and colors. This week Camille came home with a worksheet for the color red. It had the word 'red' in big bold letters across the top and then it had several small pictures of things that are typically red to color... a rose, a stop sign, an apple. Camille had colored all the pictures on the page except the picture of a bus. When I asked her why she didn't color the bus she replied, "Because busses are not red, they're yellow." She is one smart cookie, but in for a surprise if she ever visits London... where busses are red!

Camille loves her dance class and after completeing 2 one-hour classes on Saturday mornings, she thinks she is a prima ballerina. She loves the color yellow, is happiest when she can wear dresses, carry a purse and put on her imaginary make-up. She loves our dog, Riley, but only on her terms. She loves to tell jokes. And she certainly makes us laugh! There is no one she would rather spend the day with than her Mimi, but at night, she only wants her daddy and insists on a least two songs. She is my world.

Friday Family FotoFun Challange - Close Up

I can't believe the weekend is almost upon us once again! It's time for the FFFFC. If you'd like to participate, you can check out Lydia's Blog.

This week's FFFFC is close-ups. I tried to choose a few that were true close-ups and not cropped up photos. Here are some of my favorites beginning with a shot I took on the bus back to the hotel from the Civil Affairs building in Changsha on Gotcha Day...
Another close up taken at the hotel a couple of days later....
This is our little clown a few weeks after we came home from China...

This is my all-time favorite... an award winner for sure, take this summer...

Birthday Party Fun!

It's always great when you can squeeze a few extra weekends out of the summer. This weekend proved to be no exception. Camille's friend Sydney celebrated her birthday today at a local swim club. The weather was perfect swimming weather, 90 degrees and sunny! We had a ball! Happy Birthday Sydney!

First Day of Dance Class

First day of dance class. Camille loves her leotard and tights!
Tiny dancer with an attitude!
Home from class... let's have lunch!

Today was Camille's first day of dance class. There were 5 other little girls in her class and everyone seemed to enjoy the first class. I was actually pretty amazed at how well Camille did. Even the teacher, Miss Janine, told me that Camille did very well. Camille already told me that she is excited about going back next week!

This Labor Day weekend brought us a surprise visit from Mike's brother, Matthew, his wife Brigit and their children, Julia (6) and Sean (4). This is the first time Camille has seen her cousins in 2 years! The last time the 3 kids were together, Camille was only 13 months old. It was really great to see everyone and the kids had lots of fun!
